Specialist Support to communities under the LCDP
Under the LCDP, the Department of Community, Equality & Gaeltacht Affairs funds a number of organisations which have a national focus and expertise of working with specific groups or on specific themes. Such agencies provide a resource to the Local Community Development Programme in relation to these issues as well as providing specialist advice and support to local projects where appropriate. There are 12 projects in full. They include 'Changing Ireland' and (list to be added to):

HELPLINE 1800 341900DESSA is a national organisation funded to develop and deliver social inclusion initiatives to people with disabilities and their families.
DESSA is mainly funded through the Local and Community Development Programme and the Family and Community Services Resource Centre Programme.
