Phil Coulter loved Terry’s idea to join Ukrainian choir to release new version of ‘Steal Away’

Irish music legend Phil Coulter has teamed up with a choir of 40 Ukrainian singers across Ireland to release a new version of ‘Steal Away’, his 1983 song about a couple fleeing the Troubles.

Children in Fingal encouraged to take to the streets

Communities in Fingal are taking part in a pilot this summer that aims to replace cars with kids, transforming neighbourhood streets into safe places to play. The pilot is the first of its kind in Ireland and sees Fingal County Council partnered with not-for-profit organisation, A Playful City, which works to engage communities to create more playful, healthy and inclusive public places.

Volunteers prove towns such as Skerries need Community Cars

The North Dublin coastal town of Skerries might not be the first place that comes to mind when we think of areas in Ireland that have issues with transport. However, as Patricia Cassidy of Local Link points out, public transport is only accessible for those who can walk to the nearest bus stop or train station. Recognising the need among Skerries’ older population for a safe, reliable and affordable door-to-door service, the town’s community car initiative was established in November 2019.
