Popular ‘No Shame Board Game’ gets young Travellers talking
Recently, Changing Ireland reported on the board game Letter Lingo, created by community workers in Co. Leitrim, and now much in demand. Equally of note, the award-winning No Shame Board Game, launched in 2022, is helping young Travellers to talk about their mental health.

Agencies would be at a loss without Traveller culture training workshops
Traveller culture awareness workshops in Co. Wexford are improving the ability of employees in state agencies to deliver services for the Traveller population. The workshops have also been held in primary schools, increasing awareness among the general school population and instilling pride among Traveller children in particular. Such workshops also take place in other counties; we focused on one county to see the difference they make.

Dormant Accounts Fund to provide €47.6 million for disadvantaged communities
The Dormant Accounts Fund will provide over €11.3 million to the Department of Rural and Community Development for Rethink Ireland, social inclusion, and other measures geared at addressing disadvantage

A quarter of Roma women’s first contact with maternity services is when they arrive in labour at the hospital. Without translators available, patients and medics rely on Google Translate to communicate. We wouldn’t know about this if it wasn’t for the tremendous work being done with Roma people by Pavee Point.
